Why this site exists
Search "buy crypto Hong Kong" and you will mostly find global listicles that recommend exchanges which left Hong Kong in 2024, or shop pages on Instagram that never mention the law. We wanted one place that answers the local questions properly: which platforms the Securities and Futures Commission has actually licensed, what a Bitcoin ATM in a Sha Tin laundromat charges, where the walk-in counters on Nathan Road are, and what changes when the new dealer law arrives.
HongKongCrypto.asia is published in Traditional Chinese and English. The Chinese edition is written for Hong Kong readers, not translated from English, and both editions carry the same facts, dates and sources.
What we cover
We cover licensed trading platforms, banks and brokers that offer crypto, international exchanges, Bitcoin ATMs, walk-in OTC shops, OTC desks for larger trades, peer-to-peer markets, stablecoins, tax and scams. Our district guides are built from each operator's own location list, press reports and regulator documents. If a district has no confirmed crypto cash point, we say so and point to the nearest real option instead of inventing one.
Who writes it
The site is produced by a small editorial desk of writers who follow Hong Kong's financial regulation and retail crypto market. We do not publish under invented personas. Pages are signed by the desk, and corrections are made openly: if we get something wrong, email contact@hongkongcrypto.asia and we will fix it, noting the update date on the page.
