Tuen Mun's Bitcoin machines: plenty to buy from, one to sell to, no shop

The short answer for Tuen Mun

Tuen Mun has more than ten Bitcoin ATM listings, from four operators, and exactly one machine that the operator confirms will buy crypto back for cash: CoinHero's unit at Shop 94, Man Bo Building, 2 Tsing Hoi Circuit, open 24 hours. What it does not have is a staffed crypto shop. We found no walk-in counter in Tuen Mun on any operator site, despite steady searches for one.

That combination makes Tuen Mun unusual among the New Territories towns. Machine density is high because operators like the same thing laundromat owners like: dense housing estates, ground-floor shops and cheap round-the-clock premises. But no chain has opened a counter here, so anyone who wants to sell a large amount, or to swap USDT for notes, has to leave the district or go online.

Getting around matters here more than in Kowloon. Tuen Mun is the western terminus of the Tuen Ma line, and most of the town is threaded together by the Light Rail rather than by MTR stations, so the machines are spread thinly across estates rather than clustered around one exit. Plan the trip as you would a trip to the clinic: check the address, check the hours, and check which Light Rail stop is closest on the MTR app before you go. If you are coming from outside the district, it is rarely worth the journey just to use a kiosk you could find closer to home.

Every address below was checked against the operator's own site on 30 September 2026, except where we mark it as aggregator data. Machines inside laundromats close and move often, so check the live map before you go.

CoinHero's four Bitcoin ATMs in Tuen Mun

CoinHero, the city's largest network with more than 130 locations on its current map, lists four Tuen Mun machines. All run 24 hours, and three are buy-only. The full fee structure and registration process are in our CoinHero review.

The fee schedule is the same across the network, according to CoinHero's FAQ. Buying BTC, ETH, DOGE or XAUt costs 13% plus a fixed HK$100 for unregistered users, or 6.5% once you register. The minimum is HK$500, and the first note inserted must be HK$500 or HK$1,000. HK$100 notes are accepted only after that. Unregistered users can go up to HK$100,000 per transaction. Above that you need to register with a phone number, HKID or passport, a selfie and a fingerprint.

The spread of sites matters for planning. Hang Wai Industrial Building on Kin Tai Street is an industrial building, and the machine sits in the Block A2 lobby rather than a shopfront. It is listed as 24-hour, but lobby access can depend on the building, so a daytime first visit is sensible. Dor Boa Arcade and Lung Mun Oasis are laundromats in residential blocks, open to the street.

Selling Bitcoin at Man Bo Building

CoinHero's Man Bo Building machine, listed as "Tuen Mun #3", is one of only eight CoinHero units across Hong Kong that also buy back crypto (30 September 2026 locator), and the only operator-confirmed one on the western side of the New Territories apart from Yuen Long's Pau Cheung Square. Selling BTC or ETH costs 13% plus HK$25 for unregistered users. On HK$10,000 worth of Bitcoin, that is about HK$1,325 gone before you touch the notes, far more than selling on a licensed exchange and withdrawing by FPS.

There is one curiosity. Coin ATM Radar lists an HK Bitcoin ATM buy-and-sell machine at "Man Po Mansion, 2 Tsing Hoi Circuit", which is the same address in a different romanisation. HK Bitcoin ATM's website was unreachable when we checked. The aggregator entry may be an older listing for the same spot, or a second machine in the same arcade. Do not count on two sell machines until you have seen them.

Before you sell at any machine, make sure you understand how it pays out. Most kiosks create a sell order, show you a deposit address or QR code, and only release cash once the network has confirmed your transfer. That can take from minutes to much longer when Bitcoin fees spike. Stand by the machine, keep your phone charged, and never let a stranger "help" by scanning a code for you. CoinUnit lists three Tuen Mun machines, all open 24/7: Siu Lun Court (in a LaundrYup), Greenland Garden on Shek Pai Tau Road (in Wash Corner 24H) and a laundry at 3 Tsing Wu Square. The machines accept only HK$500 and HK$1,000 notes and offer BTC, ETH, DOGE, LTC and TRX. CoinUnit's site advertises selling but says a sale must be requested through its form. A search summary claimed all three Tuen Mun units buy and sell USDT on the spot, but we could not confirm that on CoinUnit's own pages, so we do not rely on it.

Localcoin shows two Tuen Mun machines in its index: one in ToysPoint on Level 2 of Sun Tuen Mun Shopping Centre on Lung Mun Road, and one in ZEPPELIN Hot Dog at K-Point, 1 Tuen Lung Street. Localcoin says its fees are "typically 5–8%" and that its machines are buy-only. Those fees are lower than CoinHero's published rate, but cannot be compared exactly without the live screen price.

Nitroswap, a small operator with about ten machines citywide, is listed by Coin ATM Radar at Shop 14, One Terminal (壹號總站), 2 Tsing Shan Square, from 10:00 to 22:00. We could not open an operator page confirming it, so treat it as unverified.

Why is there no USDT shop in Tuen Mun?

Google's autocomplete suggests "usdt 找換店 屯門", so people clearly look for one. We found no walk-in crypto counter in Tuen Mun on the sites of One Satoshi, Crypto HK, PP Crypto, VBIT or CoinHero's OTC desk, and none in the district research we built this site on. We are not saying none exists. We are saying none is publicly listed with an address and hours that we could verify. That is the minimum we need before sending a reader with cash.

Part of the explanation is timing. Since 1 August 2025, the government has told LegCo that OTC shops are not permitted to offer stablecoins such as USDT to the public. A new walk-in USDT counter is therefore hard to justify legally. Opening one in a new town, only for the dealer licensing law to shut unlicensed operators with no transitional period, is a poor bet. The chains have stayed where the foot traffic is: Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, and in the New Territories, Tsuen Wan, Sha Tin, Yuen Long and Sheung Shui.

The nearest staffed counters

If you genuinely need a person across a counter, for a larger cash sale, for USDT, or simply to ask questions, you have two directions to choose from.

North to Yuen Long. One Satoshi's Yuen Long branch is at Shop 2072, 2/F In-Citi, 17 Kau Yuk Road, open 12:00–20:30 on weekdays and 12:00–19:30 at weekends. It is the closest staffed counter to Tuen Mun and is reachable on the Tuen Ma line or the Light Rail. Yuen Long also has CoinHero's Pau Cheung Square machine, which buys and sells. East to Tsuen Wan. The Tuen Ma line runs to Tsuen Wan West, and Tsuen Wan has two counters: Crypto HK at Chuen Fung Centre, which takes walk-in cash under HK$100,000 and is closed on Sundays, and PP Crypto at Emperor Plaza, which works by appointment. Online alternatives that don't need a trip

For most people in Tuen Mun, the real alternative to a laundromat kiosk is a phone. SFC-licensed platforms such as OSL and HashKey Exchange take HKD by bank transfer or FPS and pay back to your bank when you sell. Several brokers and ZA Bank also offer crypto through licensed partners. International platforms are another option some residents use. CEX.IO, for example, was founded in London in 2013, is registered as a money services business with FinCEN in the US, holds a Gibraltar DLT licence and European VASP registrations, and lets you buy with a card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, with spot fees from 0.15%/0.25%. Hong Kong residents contract with its international entity. It is not licensed by the SFC, and the SFC recommends using licensed platforms, so weigh that before choosing it.
