The short answer for Yuen Long
Yuen Long has one staffed crypto counter, One Satoshi at Shop 2072, 2/F In-Citi, 17 Kau Yuk Road, and more than ten Bitcoin ATM listings. The one that matters most is CoinHero's 24-hour buy-and-sell machine in 365 Laundry at Pau Cheung Square. CoinUnit runs five buy machines in the old town, CoinHero two more, and Tin Shui Wai has one CoinHero kiosk of its own.
For a new town in the New Territories, that is a solid mix. It is one of only two western NT towns, with Tuen Mun, that have a sell-capable machine confirmed by its operator. It also has the only staffed counter between Tsuen Wan and the Sheung Shui border. What makes Yuen Long different from Tuen Mun next door is location. With Shenzhen Bay and Lok Ma Chau close by, cross-border cash is part of daily life, and so are the anti-money-laundering questions that come with it.
We checked every operator-listed address on 30 September 2026 and mark aggregator-only entries clearly. Laundromat kiosks come and go, so look at the live map before you go.
One Satoshi at In-Citi: the town's only staffed counter

One Satoshi's own store page gives the Yuen Long branch as Shop 2072, 2/F, In-Citi, 17 Kau Yuk Road. Some directories, including the research we started from, call the same unit "Kar Shing Plaza, 2/F Shop 2072, 15–19 Kau Yuk Road". The shop number and street match. We could not confirm whether In-Citi is a renamed Kar Shing Plaza or simply a different name for the same block. The operator uses In-Citi, and so do we. If a taxi driver or map app does not recognise one name, try the other, or just ask for Kau Yuk Road (教育路).
Hours are 12:00 to 20:30 on weekdays and 12:00 to 19:30 at weekends and on public holidays. It opens later than most banks and shuts later too, which suits people coming back from work in the city. One Satoshi says it trades BTC, ETH and USDT for cash in both directions. The Bitcoin Association of Hong Kong's guide, which is undated and may be stale, gave the chain's minimum ticket as HK$1,000 and said personal details are taken above HK$80,000. A second name sometimes comes up in Yuen Long searches: DCoin OTC. It appeared on a January 2025 third-party list of Hong Kong OTC shops, but we found no current address, opening hours or website for it. We are not listing it. Where you can sell crypto for cash in Yuen Long
This is the town's strong point. Three locations claim to pay out notes, although only one is confirmed by its operator.

Pau Cheung Square is the one to rely on. CoinHero lists the 365 Laundry machine at Shop D1 as "buy/sell", 24 hours a day. It is one of just eight CoinHero sell points in Hong Kong on the operator's 30 September 2026 list. The published sell fee is 13% plus HK$25 for unregistered users, so on HK$5,000 of Bitcoin you lose about HK$675 before any notes come out. Registration halves the percentage. New City, 37–51 Yau Sun Street appears twice on Coin ATM Radar: as a Nitroswap machine at Shop F50, buying and selling BTC, BCH, ETH and LTC from 10:30 to 22:30, and as an HK Bitcoin ATM location at the same address and hours. It is probably the same machine listed under two operator names. We could not reach either operator's site to confirm it is still there.
Kolour, Shop 60, 2/F, 1 Kau Yuk Road is a General Bytes machine that Coin ATM Radar lists as buying and selling BTC, ETH, LTC and USDT, from 09:30 to 22:30. The aggregator notes that "the operator disabled price reporting", so you will not know the fee until you are at the screen. Treat it as unverified, and be doubly careful with the USDT option given the stablecoin rules explained below.
Selling to a bank beats 13% at a kiosk
On a licensed exchange you sell and withdraw HKD by FPS, and no notes change hands on Pau Cheung Square at night.

CoinUnit has the densest local footprint, with five machines, all open 24/7, all taking only HK$500 and HK$1,000 notes, and offering BTC, ETH, DOGE, LTC and TRX. Its site advertises selling but says a sale must be requested via a form. A buy fee of HK$90 + 6.9% has circulated in search snippets. We could not confirm it on CoinUnit's pages. CoinHero's two buy-only units, at Wun Fat Building on Wang Fat Path and Healey Building on Castle Peak Road, charge the network rate of 13% plus HK$100, or 6.5% if you are registered, with a HK$500 minimum. Localcoin shows two machines in Yuen Long district. We could confirm one address, 365 Laundry at Lok Fu Building on Fuk Tin Path. Localcoin says its fees are typically 5–8% and its machines are buy-only.

Tin Shui Wai: one machine for a town of its own
Tin Shui Wai is part of Yuen Long District but feels like a separate new town, and its crypto coverage is thin. CoinHero lists a single machine, in Laundromat.sha at Shop A91-15A, G/F Kingswood Richly Plaza, Kingswood Villas. It is open 24 hours and buy-only. CoinUnit names Tin Shui Wai among its New Territories service areas, but its current Chinese location list shows no Tin Shui Wai address, so we cannot point you to one. There is no staffed counter. From Tin Shui Wai, the Tuen Ma line is one stop to Long Ping and two to Yuen Long for One Satoshi and the Pau Cheung Square sell machine. The Light Rail also covers the route if you would rather stay above ground.
Cross-border cash, Shenzhen and AML
Yuen Long's position next to the boundary is what gives its crypto market a different flavour. Two points matter.
Cash declarations. Hong Kong's Cross-boundary Movement of Physical Currency and Bearer Negotiable Instruments Ordinance (Cap. 629) requires anyone arriving with currency and bearer instruments worth more than HK$120,000 to make a written declaration to Customs, using the Red Channel. Departing travellers must disclose if a Customs officer asks. The maximum penalty for breaking the rules is a HK$500,000 fine and two years in prison. Crypto on your phone is not "currency" for this purpose, but the notes you plan to change at a Yuen Long counter are. Mainland China has its own cash limits and has banned crypto trading, which is a separate matter we do not cover here.
Money laundering. Walk-in crypto shops are a known route for laundering cash. In May 2025, police broke a HK$118 million ring whose members withdrew cash from about 500 stooge accounts and took it to "virtual asset exchange stores" to convert into crypto. A 2025 newspaper investigation of a Mong Kok building found about half of the shops there did no KYC at all. The Anti-Money Laundering Ordinance (Cap. 615) and the police's laundering powers apply to you as a customer too. If you change someone else's cash, or accept crypto that later turns out to be dirty, your own bank account can be frozen. Never carry cash across the border for someone else, never "top up" a stranger's wallet for a fee, and expect a legitimate counter to ask for ID on large trades.
Choosing a route in Yuen Long
A reasonable rule of thumb: for a small buy at an odd hour, any 24-hour CoinUnit or CoinHero kiosk will do, at a price. For a sale, Pau Cheung Square works any time but costs 13% plus HK$25, and One Satoshi at In-Citi is the better option during opening hours, because you can ask for a rate before you commit. For anything regular or large, the cheapest and cleanest route skips the street altogether. SFC-licensed platforms take HKD by bank transfer or FPS and pay back to your bank, leaving a clean record if your bank or Customs ever asks where the money came from. If Yuen Long does not have what you need, the Tuen Ma line runs east to Tsuen Wan, where Crypto HK and PP Crypto run two more staffed counters, and west to Tuen Mun, which has another sell machine but no shop.

Aggregators also list sell-capable machines at New City on Yau Sun Street (Nitroswap) and at 1 Kau Yuk Road (Kolour), which we could not confirm with the operators.
Where is the One Satoshi shop in Yuen Long?
One Satoshi lists it as Shop 2072, 2/F, In-Citi, 17 Kau Yuk Road, open 12:00–20:30 on weekdays and 12:00–19:30 at weekends and on holidays. Some older guides call the mall Kar Shing Plaza at 15–19 Kau Yuk Road. The shop number is the same, so follow the operator's current In-Citi address.
Is there a USDT exchange shop in Yuen Long?
The only staffed counter we could confirm is One Satoshi at In-Citi, which says it handles USDT. DCoin OTC appeared on a January 2025 directory, but we found no current address. Since 1 August 2025, the government has said OTC shops may not offer stablecoins such as USDT to the public, so check before you travel.
Can I bring crypto cash from Yuen Long to Shenzhen?
Crypto itself is not declared at the border, but cash is. Why do Yuen Long crypto shops ask where my money came from?
Because Yuen Long sits next to two border crossings and cash is the main laundering risk. Police have broken rings that moved stooge-account cash through crypto exchange shops. A shop that asks for ID or source of funds is protecting itself and you. Be wary of one that does not ask at all on large amounts.
